In 2020, an archaeological excavation was carried out on a lot located on Temple’s street, on the corner with Germà Bernabé.
The study of the remains has allowed us to know part of an island located under the forum of the Roman city, in which there was the peristyle of a domus and other outbuildings. Part of a late medieval road was also documented, as well as the remains of the Old Tower. So, in a space of around 200 m2, we were able to see several structures that have contributed knowledge from Roman times to the present day.
Among the materials recovered, mostly from the Roman period, we find elements of a certain social status enjoyed by the inhabitants of this area of the Roman city, such as a carved stone and an alabaster ointment container. We have also recovered a late medieval decorative relief and other more modern elements related to daily life and the functioning of the city.
