This year the Museum of Badalona joins the European Archaeology Days with a guided tour to the permanent exhibition Baetulo, a Roman city, located in the underground of the building. The visit, led by the Museum’s Archeology department, will focus on the pieces incorporated into the permanent exhibition in December 2020, and in the archaeological excavations that allowed these findings.

Among the most remarkable, we can see a burial of the necropolis documented in the excavation of the square of Pompeu Fabra (2008), a spectacular ceramic bowl from the square of the Roman City (2016), part of the decoration of a lararium appeared on the side of the C31 (2017), the mosaic with Bacchic decoration recovered from the intervention of the street Pujol (2018), a gold ring from the street of Coll i Pujol (2019) and several pieces, among them a unique gladiator-shaped lamp, from the intervention on the site of L’ Estrella (2019).

The visit will allow us to have a deeper vision of these and other pieces that, in some cases, are exceptional both in the context of the Roman city of Baetulo, and in the whole of the Catalan archaeological heritage. Likewise, the archaeological context in which they appeared will be made known in more detail.
