It has been 50 years since Josep M. Teixidó Camí (l’Espluga Calba, 1947) dedicated himself to sculpture and the Museum and the City Hall want to join in the celebration of this very special anniversary, with an exhibition of his work that will be presented on the ground floor and in the basement (space of the decumanus), in the Josep Uclés room of the El Carme Centre Cultural and in the tallerBDN.

Half a century of artistic career is impossible to summarize. We will only say that Camí is a tireless creator, who evolved from figurative art to abstract forms, who is a great connoisseur of materials (he has published a book on woodworking and one on stonework, both translated into 10 languages), and who, in addition to exhibiting regularly, is the author of public sculptures in Badalona (Pep Ventura square), and also in Ecuador and South Korea. It has also been characterized by its relationship with the world of poetry and, especially, with Màrius Sampere.

For 33 years he taught at the escola Massana, where he himself had studied, and in 2005 he created, in Badalona, the city where he has resided since 1965, the tallerBDN, an entity dedicated to the creation, production and dissemination of sculpture, through which sixty artists have passed.
