Badalona experienced a great demographic growth between the end of the 19th century and the 1980s. The city was deeply transformed, and the evolution of means of transport really confirms this. You can see it in this exhibition and in the publication of the same title, dedicated to land transport, which goes on wheels.
The photographs presented focus mainly on the 1950s and 1960s and have the arrival of the subway in 1985 as their final point. The images show a huge variety of means of transport, a strong contrasts between them and also the evolution that of both the city and its inhabitants.
The exhibition is explained in three sections. The first explores the world of transport as a work tool, the second focuses on personal travel, and the third focuses on recreational, festive and religious aspects.
And, very important: the exhibition presents a great novelty, since on March 25th, in occasion of the presentation of the book (published by the Efadós publishing house), a good part of the photographs will be exchanged for others of the same theme. It will therefore be a lively and dynamic exhibition that will have to be visited more than once.
