The Venerable Congregation of Our Lady of Sorrows in Badalona, based in the church of Santa Maria, was founded in 1723 after taking over an image of Our Lady that is still preserved today. Now, therefore, it is 300 years since its existence and, to commemorate it, the Museum is dedicating an exhibition and a book written by Joan Rosàs, historian and current prior of the Congregation
The exhibition brings together a set of documents, photographs and pieces belonging to the entity, with the aforementioned image of the Virgin Mary as the protagonist. Regarding the publication, it explains the origins of the congregation, the organization – with a curious treatment of equality between men and women – and the numerous vicissitudes experienced throughout its history, which includes the difficult period of the War civil
