Montalegre, six centuries of carthusian silence

Texts: Jaume Oliveras
Photographies: Oriol Casanova and Antonio Guillén
Museu de Badalona, 2017

A book that gathers the 600 years of the history of the Carthusian monastery of Montalegre and the artistic vision of this unique monastery from two well-known photographers such as Oriol Casanovas and Antonio Guillén. The publication, illustrated with photos of the mentioned authors, is written by Jaume Oliveras, a great connoisseur of Montalegre and the Carthusian charism. His careful prose brings us closer to the life of the monastery and its architecture, discovering us some unpublished facts and explains how only certain historical events have been able to alter the life of the Carthusians, always presided over by the spirtituality, silence and austerity.
