The Venerable Congregation of Our Lady of Sorrows in Badalona, based in the church of Santa Maria, was founded in 1723 after taking over an image of Our Lady that is still preserved today. This book, written by the historian and current prior of the Badalon congregation, Joan Rosàs Reverté, explains the origins of this institution, its organization – with a curious treatment of equality between men and women – and the numerous vicissitudes it has experienced throughout its history.
