In 2003, Mrs. Maria Prat Prats let the Museum copy a set of photographs she kept of her father, Josep Prat Giralt, an amateur cyclist from Badalona who stood out, above all, in track cycling races. As early as the 1920s, he took part in races organized in Badalona and other towns. As you can see in some pictures, he often ran in the velodrome in the Casagemes neighborhood, which opened just 100 years ago in April. Later, at the end of the century – in the nineties – he took part in the organization of the Badalona Cycling Race.

In order to spread these photographs, we have searched for other old images of cycling and cycling races in the city. And to top it all off, we’ve included some old images of tennis courts, which are only a few.

It is, therefore, an eclectic photo gallery that contains very unknown images of the city.
