Roman civilization gave great importance and prominence to cities, enlarging the existing ones and creating many new ones in all the territories the Romans conquered. These newly built cities basically all followed the same model both in plan and in the approach of the public and private buildings.

In this lecture we will discover what cities from the Roman era are like, based on the example of Baetulo, but also from the rest of the Roman cities that have been preserved and studied in Catalonia, and giving an special atention to the public spaces and buildings that they edified in these urbs.
