Guided tour of one of the most unique spaces in the Roman city of Baetulo, the House of the Dolphins.
The House of the Dolphins is a well-to-do Roman domus or house from the late 1st century BC, located in the upper part of the ancient city of Baetulo. There are several rooms around the atrium, other rooms related to the peristyle or garden and a work area for wine production. Of note are the high-quality mosaics, as well as the remains of original murals.
A visit to the Garden reveals a part of a pond that presided over the peristyle of a wealthy house in Baetulo, built at the end of the 1st century AD, which possibly belonged to Quintus Licinius, a member of a powerful patrician family and leading role in the hospitality pact signed with the Badalonians in 98 AD which was collected in the tabula hospitalis.
This guided tour is free and is offered as a complement to the access to the Museum of Badalona, so it is essential to purchase a ticket to the Museum to take part on it.
